Litera Meat is the first pig plant promoted by Pini Group in Spain, specifically in Aragón, a reference area in the agri-food sector. The company brings to Alimentaria its proposal for a cutting-edge meat industry aimed at maintaining maximum production efficiency and prioritising quality, safety and sustainability.
Since its beginnings in 2019, Litera Meat has been committed to the incorporation of cutting-edge technology throughout its production process: slaughter, cutting and marketing of pork at national and international level. It currently has a slaughter capacity of 160,000 pigs per week, making it one of the safest, most efficient and productive pig infrastructures in Europe, with a presence in the most important meat markets.
Its in-house laboratory is quality certified in four areas: parasitology, water, microbiology and COVID. And it is the only plant in the country with an innovative method for detecting Trichinella larvae, validated by the centre Centro de Investigación y Tecnología Agroalimentaria in Aragón.
The company annually renews its Welfair certification as regards Animal Welfare, a commitment to a more demanding and respectful production and consumption model. It also works sustainably, controlling and reducing those aspects that have a direct impact on the environment.
